The Pastelist
Although we’ve been lusting over the neons du jour this spring and summer, we can’t help but to be drawn to their less-blinding brethren, the pastel. Most notably seen on the runways of Louis Vuitton and Prada’s spring 2012 collection, pastels are a one way ticket to achieving that dreamy, sugary sweet look fashion mavens are wearing this season. Due to their subtleness, don’t be afraid to wear a head to toe pastel look. Whether worn monochromatically or in color blocks, your pastel ensemble will scream springtime chic without blinding onlookers like the shades’ highlighter counterpart. If you haven’t quite wrangled enough confidence to wear an entire pastel ensemble or if you are simply wanting to add a small pop of color to your look, we suggest experimenting with pastel accessories. You’ll be amazed how much a mint nail polish, cotton candy pink sandal or lemon drop colored clutch can do to perk up a bland outfit!
